PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy retrieval of information by recording the index picture information in addition to the index information and therefore retrieving the desired information based on the index picture information. CONSTITUTION:The information to be reproduced is recorded to a disk 1 serving as a recording medium from its inner circumference toward outer circumference. At the same time, the index information is digitally recorded at the first area of the track from a point (a),i.e., the track starting point through a point (b). Then the index picture information is recorded at an area from the point (b) through a point (d) following the index information recording area. When the reading of information is started at the track starting point of the disk 1, the index information is first read. This index information is demodulated to digital signals by an address detecting circuit 22 and stored in a memory 39. The index picture information is read after the index information reading is completed, and the composite video signals are obtained from a demodulating circuit 21. Then the index of information blocks is visually displayed on a CRT screen of a TV receiver. Thus the programming work is possible while looking at the index picture. |
