PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a waterproof sheet by tension by a method in which slope and bottom ground compacted with a watertight material are covered with a waterproof sheet, a trench is excavated in the peripheral portion of the bottom and covered with the sheet, and a filler is packed into the trench. CONSTITUTION:A binder layer 4 and a watertight asphalt concrete layer 3 are provided on the broken stone subgrade 5 of the slope 2 of a water reservoir 1 formed by excavating the ground, compacted, and covered with a waterproof sheet 8. The whole surface of the subgrade 7 of the bottom of the water reservoir 1 is covered with the lower end portion of the sheet 8. A trench 9 is excavated in the joint portion between the slope and the bottom, or in the edge portion of the bottom, the inside of the trench 9 is covered with the sheet 8, and a filler 5 is packed into the trench 9. Tensile stress acting on the sheet 8 due to unequal subsidence of the ground can thus be eased by the action of the sheet 8 in the trench 9, whereby preventing the occurrence of cracks in the sheet 8. |
