PURPOSE:To obtain excellent optical properties, mechanical properties, weatherability and formability by constituting a titled fiber of a sleeve component consisting of a methacrylic resin and a core component having a refractive index higher than the refractive index of said sleeve component. CONSTITUTION:A methacrylic resin for a sleeve component contains (A) 40- 89wt% methyl methacrylate monomer or partial polymer, (B) 1-20wt% alpha-methyl styrene, (C) 5-20wt% styrene and (D) 1-25wt% maleic anhydride as copolymer components. The polymer (A) is the component necessary for maintaining optical characteristics, weatherability and mechanical characteristics and the component (B) has the effect of improving heat resistance and the component (C) the effect of improving mechanical characteristics, optical transmission performance and formability. A transparent polymer having the refractive index larger by at least 1% than the refractive index of the copolymer for the sleeve component is used for the core component. |
