PURPOSE:To obtain a coated film layer having excellent durability and surface smoothness by incorporating the magnetic powder coated with the resultant product of reaction between a specific compd. having an isocyanate group and 1 or >=2 kinds of compds. selected from a specific compd. group having a func tional group that can react with the isocyanate group. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording medium contg. the magnetic powder coated with the resultant product of reaction between 1 or >=2 kinds of isocyanate compds. selected from the group consisting of a polyisocyanate group of 100- 1000mol.wt. having 2 or >=3 isocyanate groups in one molecule, and an isocyanate compd. of 140-1500mol.wt. having a hydrolyzable alkoxysilane group and 1 or>=2 isocyanate groups in one molecule and 1 or >=2 kinds of compds. selected from the group consisting of the alkyl phenol or the deriv. thereof expressed by the formula I , the bisphenol A or the deriv. thereof expressed by the formula II, the alkylphosphoric amide expressed by the formula III, the 1st amine deriv. expressed by the formula VI and the 2nd amine deriv. expressed by the formula V. |
