CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To obtain a billet having high quality without component segregation by exerting pressure on the molten metal in a casting mold of a continuous casting device to produce many crystal nuclei and fluidizing and stirring further electromagnetically near the secondary cooling zone. CONSTITUTION:Gas is introduced through an introducing pipe 3 into a sealing part 4 in the part above the meniscus of the molten metal in a casting mold and a pressure higher than the atm. pressure is exerted on the molten metal to increase the number of the crystal nuclei to be produced in the stage of casting continuously the molten metal. An electromagnetic stirrer 9 is further provided near the secondary cooling zone to fluidize and stir electromagnetically the liquid phase part in a billet. The segregation layer generated with the stirring is thus decreased and the quality of the continuous cating billet is improved by such method.
