CASTING METHOD USING POWDER AS RAW MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a novel structure by packing a metal or metallic compd., etc. in a powder state into a casting mold then heating the mold to melt the powder and casting the molten metal or metallic compd. thereby eliminating the need for casting at a high temp. and improving workability and safety. CONSTITUTION:Powder and granules 2 consisting of metallic powder of a mixture composed of the metallic powder and >=1 kind of non-metallic powder or heat resistant fibers are packed or scattered in a mold 1. The powder and granules 2 are heated together with the mold 1 in a high frequency induction furnace 3 for example, to melt the powder and granules 2 therein. The molten metal is then quickly cooled to maintain the dispersibility and the flocculation and sepn. of the metals having no solubility with each other and the powder liable to cause weight segregation.
