Moulding compositions which comprise a polymer of thermoplastic, heat-curable or elastomeric nature, an inorganic reinforcing filler and optionally a coupling agent. According to the invention the inorganic filler consists essentially of an intimate mixture of forsterite and of silica, as obtained by calcination at a temperature at least equal to 650 DEG C of clayey species represented by compounds such as antigorite, chrysotile, amesite, cronstedtite, berthierine or mixtures of these species. The moulded products obtained from these compositions have excellent mechanical properties, in particular in respect of flexural modulus and impact strength.
