The invention relates to a panel for the roofing of buildings, consisting of an external profiled sheet 2, of thickness >/= 5 mm, made of asbestos cement, of an insulating core 7 firmly attached to the underface of the sheet, it being possible for the said core to be covered with a moisture barrier and/or a finishing coating 8. It is characterised in that a part of the descending end undulation of the rigid external roofing sheet, which is used for the longitudinal overlapping between two adjacent panels, is removed in the factory and replaced by a thin sealing flap 5, of thickness </= 4 mm and of similar dimensions, made of a flexible or semi-rigid material. Such an arrangement makes it possible to lay insulating roofing panels and particularly supports for curved tiles without having to cut the corners of the rigid external asbestos cement sheets. <IMAGE>
