The yarn guides can be shifted into the spinning position or the balloon position by means of a geared engine. The yarn guides are arranged in a stationary position on the yarn guide shaft in the spinning position and balloon position, while in the spinning position they are arranged in a centered position above spindles. The pivot point of the yarn guide is approximately half-way between the spinning position and the balloon position.
