<p>PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a magnetic recording and reproducing device by an extremely simple method by connecting rotary transformer coils which have high signal transmission efficiency to magnetic heads which generate small signal outputs. CONSTITUTION:When a signal recorded on a magnetic tape 8 is reproduced in long-time mode, relatively small signals outputs of magnetic heads 2a and 2b having small effective width are connected to rotary transformer coils 5a and 5b on a rotary drum side which are distant from respective rotating shafts 4, transmitted to fixed-side rotary transformer coils 7a and 7b with high transmission efficiency, and outputted through a changeover switch and an amplifier. On the other hand, when the signal is reproduced in standard mode, relatively large signal outputs from magnetic heads 3a and 3b having large effective width are connected to rotary transformer coils 5c and 5d on the rotary drum side which are close to the respective rotating shafts 4, transmitted to the rotary transformer coils 7c and 7d on the fixed drum side, and outputted. Therefore, balanced reproduced picture quality is obtained in each mode.</p> |
