<p>PURPOSE:To provide a gasket having a good seal characteristic by putting lead balls in a flat gasket, fixing the gasket to a flange coupling, and making a mold for the gasket according to distortion of the lead balls. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of small bores 2 are formed on a flat gasket 1, and lead balls 3 are put in the small bores 2. The flat gasket 1 is fixed to a coupling surface of a flange coupling 10, and as usually, bolts are fastened further. After that, the flat gasket 1 is taken out to measure the distorsion of the gasket (not shown) caused by deformation of the lead balls 3 at the time of fixing, and a press mold for the gasket is made corresponding to the distorsion to obtain a gasket having a required thickness. In this arrangement, even if a flange 12 is deformed by fastening bolts 11, the surface of the flange 12 is aligned with the surface of the gasket so as to keep uniformity of surface pressure.</p> |
