PURPOSE:To prevent a tape from sagging, elongating, or breaking in a transient state by providing a controller which controls two pairs of capstan and pinch roller devices by mutually independent servo circuits, and control the whole of a record carrier feed system. CONSTITUTION:Capstan motors CMA and CMB are driven by mutually independent servo circuits 4A and 4B, and the peripheral speed of a payoff side is set a little bit smaller than that of a take-up side previously so that the tape tension in a loop is proper. When the run of the tape is started, a pinch roller solenoid PSAis put in operation to press a pinch roller PA against a capstan CA, and the capstan motor CMA is started to drive the tape. When both capstan motors CMA and CMB attain to specific rotating speeds and both servo circuits 4A and 4B send out servo lock signals to the system control circuit 12, the pinch roller PB is pressed against the capstan CB to form a closed loop. |
