The exercise frame (14) is for reversibly displacing at least one weight (12) and has an arm actuated section (58) coupled to the weight independently, responsive to the displacement of at least one arm of the user. A leg actuated section (100) is mounted on the frame for reversibly displacing the weight independently of the arm actuated section. A coupling cable system (128) connects the arm actuated section to the leg actuated section. This provides the lift force to the weight responsive to i) a combined displacement of the arm and leg actuated sections, ii) independent displacement of the arm actuated section and iii) independent displacement of the leg actuated section.
