The longitudinal adjustment device for vehicles seats has a longitudinal guide which consists of two rails which engage one in the other and can be displaced with respect to one another and a motor-driven adjustment device which has a toothed rack connected to the first rail and a drive shaft which is rotatably held on the second rail and drives a pinion which is in engagement with the toothed rack. A wrap-around block engages around the toothed rack on its side facing away from the pinion and merges on both sides of this wrap-around area with in each case one holding area. Each holding area is connected to the unit composed of second rail and drive shaft.
