In an arrangement for the winning of coal in steeply sloping stratification with an integrated face-support and winning apparatus, in which the coal is released from the face (3) by winning tools fastened to the face supports and is subsequently conveyed away, the coal can be released and conveyed away with simple means owing to the fact that a wall (14) separating the access space is provided on the coal-face side, and that the winning tools are formed by high-pressure-jet cutting nozzles (22) which are arranged on the wall (14) and are directed roughly parallel to the floor (1). <IMAGE>
