Fastening device for a curtain rail

For curtain rails 1 for guiding the gliders or runners of suspenders of curtains, net curtains or the like, a configuration is to be achieved whereby no screws or similar fasteners are required to fix the curtain rail 1 in a groove of a thin-walled support plate or the like. The curtain rail 1, with a substantially C-shaped profile cross-section, therefore has a web 2 with a deformable region 4 which extends in its longitudinal direction and which has a pre-profiled bend or kink. In the region of the bent or kinked web 2, the curtain rail 1 has a width 12, corresponding to the clear groove width, between its outer longitudinal edges 6' and 6''. The extended length of the web 2 between its outer longitudinal edges 6' and 6'' is, however, greater than the clear groove width, as a result of which, by extending the web 2, its longitudinal edges 6' and 6'' penetrate into the groove walls (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
