PURPOSE:To take an accurate relaxation test invariably without any individual difference by switching a load mechanism to elongation control instantaneously once a load attains to a set value. CONSTITUTION:When a relaxation test of a sample W to be tested is taken, a load is placed on the sample W to be tested firstly under load control according to a preset load objective value signal. Simultaneously, the elongation of the sam ple W to be tested increases gradually, but the output of a displacement amplifier 7 is held to the same specific value with the objective signal. Then when the load attains to the set value, switches S1, S2, and S3 are inverted immediately to switch the load control to elongation control, and the load control is so carried out as to hold the elongation of the sample W to be tested to the objective value, i.e. to hold the current elongation. Thus, the load is not held temporarily to the set load value as before, so accurate relaxation is obtained and individual difference in test data due to difference in load holding time is eliminated completely. |
