PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic support suitable for use in a photographic printing paper especially superior in writability on the reverse face and difficult in transferability of written letters, marks, etc., by forming a print-retaining layer prepared by dispersing an inorganic pigment specified in number average particle diameter and oil absorptivity into a binder containing a styrene-acrylate copolymer on the reverse side of a water-proof support across photographic emulsion layers arranged on the support. CONSTITUTION:The print-retaining layer prepared by dispersing an inorganic pigment having a number average particle diameter of 0.1-3.0mum and an oil absorptivity of 100cc/100g into a binder containing a styrene-acrylate copolymer on the reverse side of a water-proof paper base coated on both sides with polyolefin resin across the photographic emulsion layers arranged on the other side of the support. The paper base is selected from materials generally used for photographic supports, and the most suitable polyolefin is a high-density polyethylene, a low-density polyethylene, and their mixture. |
