PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having favorable reversal photographic characteristics, high aging stability and a wide exposure latitude by doping the internal nuclei of core/shell type silver halide particles having a larger average particle size with a larger amount of specified metallic ions. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material for a direct positive is obtd. by forming a layer of a core/shell type silver halide emulsion contg. silver halide particles each consisting of an internal nucleus of silver halide doped with metallic ions and/or sensitized chemically and an external nucleus coating the photosensitive site on a support. At this time, the core/shell type silver halide particles are composed of two or more kinds of particles having different average particle sizes, and the internal nuclei of core/shell type silver halide particles having a larger average particle size are doped with a larger amount of ions of Pb, Cd or a VIII group metal. Thus, the aging stability is remarkably improved.
