The arrangement is used for the two-sided upsetting of bar blanks, for example of bars for insulators, and contains separable matrix halves (3) with a charging space (10) and a working space (11), a crosspiece (4) which is mounted on a driven piston rod (5) and connected to the matrix halves (3), upsetting die (6), a support piece (7) for blanks and a device (14) for supplying blanks from the charging space (10) to the support piece (7). The supply device (14) contains grippers (15) which are mounted pivotably on the crosspiece (4) and are kinematically connected to the driven piston rod (5). As a result, it is made possible to carry out the displacement of the grippers and matrix halves by means of only one drive, to increase operational reliability and to extend the life of the arrangement. <IMAGE>
