The invention relates to a device for introducing a yarn end (17) to the delivery tube (12) of a spinning unit (1) of an open-end spinning machine by means of a driver (10) which is displaceable to and fro and which is equipped with an open guide (2) serving for guiding and tensioning the end piece (16) of the yarn in close proximity to the mouth (11) of the delivery tube (12), and with a supporting face (13) controlling the position of the end piece (16) of the yarn (3) during the movement of the driver (10). The device is characterised in that the supporting face (13) has a pneumatic holding device (8, 9, 15). In an especially advantageous embodiment, the line on the supporting face (13) opens out through some orifices (15) which are arranged next to one another in a row extending in the longitudinal direction in relation to the fixed position of the end length (16) of the yarn (3). <IMAGE>
