Burner for the combustion of gases of low heating value with the admixture of fuel dust, especially wood dust. The aim of the invention is to specify a process and a device which enable the heat output in heating plants which operate with low-calorific gases to be increased if need be. The object is achieved in that a fuel in dust form is fed in through a specially designed burner for gas of low heating value as a second fuel to the combustion gas, concentrically and/or centrally to the supporting flame which burns to produce the basic heat. The burner consists of the burner tube for the gas flame with an infeed device for the fuel dust, and also a vortexing or swirl device.
