A turn-and-tilt fitting consists of a plate 1 and of an actuating shaft 3 which is rotatably mounted therein and to the outer end 4 of which a grip handle 5 perpendicular to the actuating shaft 3 is connected and the inner end 6 of which has an actuating pinion 7. The grip handle 5 can be held in mutually perpendicular catch positions by means of two catching components 14, 15. One of the two catching components 14 is axially immovable relative to the plate 1. Moreover, the one catching component 14 is coupled to the plate 1 and the other 15 to the actuating shaft 3 fixedly in terms of rotation. Furthermore, one catching component 14 is provided with axial recesses 17 and the other 15 is provided with a complementary axial boss 18 which, when the grip handle 5 is actuated, can be moved out of the associated axial recess 17 counter to the spring effect. In such a turn-and-tilt fitting, a highly accurate guidance of the actuating pinion 7 is guaranteed if the actuating shaft 3 is mounted in the plate 1 so as to be axially non-displaceable, if the two catching components are designed as complementary rings 14, 15 concentric with the actuating shaft 3 and respectively having four axial recesses 17 and axial bosses 18 arranged at an equal distance from one another, and if one ring 15 is mounted so as to be axially displaceable counter to the effect of the spring designed as a helical spring 20. <IMAGE>
