The invention relates to an orthopaedic bed arrangement, especially a mattress, which permits completely selective support to specific, damaged areas of the spine of a patient. According to the invention, this is done in that care is taken to ensure that wave-like elevation is produced on the lying surface which is suitable for providing a reliable support especially for the damaged area of the spine, especially the lumbar part of the spine or the cervical part of the spine, in a defined manner.
