The subject of the invention is a rotary drum for the treatment of bulk material with at least one revolving portion of which projects into a stationary housing, a support frame or a similar component, and which is sealed with respect to the latter by at least one sealing arrangement. To ensure a secure sealing even in the event of positional changes of a sealing element which are to be attributed to changes in operating conditions, according to the invention the sealing arrangement is embodied as a slide ring seal (41,42) with radial sealing faces (43), one slide ring (41) of which is connected to the revolving rotary drum part (45) and the other (42) is connected to the stationary housing part (53), one of the slide rings (42) being articulately coupled via two lever rods (55) having a universal joint (47, 56, 57) to two pressing force generators (60) and connected via a support ring (46) to a bellows (50). <IMAGE>
