PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent precision moldability and resistance to impact and wear, by incorporating a potassium titanate fiber in a polyphenylene sulfide resin. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. is obtd by incorporating 5-70wt% potassium titanate fiber (e.g. one having an average fiber diameter of 1mu or below, an average fiber length of 5-100mu and an aspect ratio of 10 or above) in a polyphenylene sulfide resin. The polyphenylene sulfide resin has excellent resistance to heat and chemicals, flame retardance and dimensional stability, but is very brittle so that glass fiber or carbon fiber as a reinforcing material has been conventionally incorporated therein. However, these fibers are relative large so that there is a difficulty in injection-molding the compsn. into thin-wall parts or precision parts. By incorporating the potassium titanate fiber, a resin compsn. having excellent resistance to impact and wear and capable of precision molding can be obtd.
