PURPOSE:To obtain a polyamide having excellent impact resistance and moldability, by adding a specified ethylene ionomer resin and a specified ethylene copolymer rubber to a polyamide and melt-kneading the mixture. CONSTITUTION:2-100pts.wt. ethylene ionomer resin contg. two ro more different metallic ions (e.g. an ethylene ionomer resins contg. Zn and Mg ions) and 1- 70pts.wt. ethylene copolymer rubber (e.g. an ethylene/propylene copolymer) are added to 100pts.wt. polyamide (e.g. nylon 12). The mixture is melt-kneaded. In a method for improving the impact resistance of polyamide by adding an ethylene ionomer resin and an ethylene copolymer rubber, a resin contg. two or more metallic ions is used as the ethylene ionomer resin, whereby impact resistance and moldability can be further improved as compared with conventional methods.
