PURPOSE:To speedily respond even to a sudden pressure change in and out of a battery and wipe out any fear of battery breakdown as well as to prevent an electrolyte from coming into rarefaction due to the run of useless seawater in time of pressure equalization, by installing a valve whose opening area varies according to a pressure differential in and out of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A nylon cloth-make valve body 8 installed in the exhaust port of a liquid circulating type battery having an electrolyte storage part inside the battery and circulating the electrolyte inside the battery cell part is choked in its opening part 10 with an rubber strong 9 and therefore almost nearly closed up. Accordingly, if there is a bit of clearance left in between, no seawater flows inside. When internal pressure is more increased than external pressure by generation of a sub-reactional gas, the valve body 8 opens outward in conformity with a degree of the increased pressure, causing an area of the opening part 10 to be increased to the extent of being proportionate to tension of the rubber string 9, and gas is promptly discharged whereby both internal and external pressures are balanced, thus the valve body 8 is restored to its original state. In addition, when the external pressure exceeds the internal one, the valve body 8 opens inward, leading the seawater inside, and when pressureis balanced, it is restored to the original state as well. |
