PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent compatibility with polyolefins and suitable for use in the lap winding of a tape contg. a peroxide crosslinking agent over the joints of cables, consisting of a polyolefin, a specified antioxidant and electrically conductive carbon black. CONSTITUTION:0.01-2pts.wt. 2,2-thiobis(4-methyl-6-t-butyl-phenol) as an antioxidant and optionally 5-100pts.wt. electrically conductive carbon black are blended with 100pts.wt. polyolefin (e.g. low-density PE) used for semiconductor layers of cables or the like. EFFECT:When the compsn. is used in contact with other compsn. contg. a peroxide crosslinking agent (crosslinked insulator or tapes at joint), desired thermal aging resistance can be maintained even when the peroxide crosslinking agent migrates from other compsn. to the compsn. and penetrates thereinto.
