摘要

PURPOSE:To block flow-in of gas through the terminal while to maintain high vacuum and to reduce deterioration of picture image by employing such material as impregnated with copper, zinc or tin alloy for the terminal. CONSTITUTION:A cathode wire 1 for forming the thermion emitter and its supporter 2 are placed under high vacuum where a control electrode mesh 3 is placed on the cathode wire 1 while phosphor member 4 is placed on said mesh 3. Furthermore a back electrode 5 is placed below the cathode wire 1 in order to promote emission of thermion from the cathode wire 1. Ni-Cr-Fe alloy having thermal expansion factor similar with that of the glass container 6 is employed for the terminal 7 while alloy 10 of copper and tin with ratio of 7:3 or 6:4 is contained in a ceramic container 9 then a porous ceramic plate 11 is placed thereafter the terminal 7 held by a holding zig 8 is set to burn in a hydrogen furnace under the temperature of 600-900 deg.C to impregnate copper alloy along the crystal particle at the terminal 7.
