PURPOSE:To provide an emulsified dispersion of an ultraviolet ray absorber which contains a mixt. of specified two types of ultraviolet ray absorbers and oil drops contg. a high-boiling solvent, gives a consistently high ultraviolet ray absorption effect even at high temp. and high humidity when applied to photographic products. CONSTITUTION:The emulsified dispersion of an ultraviolet ray absorber contains a mixt. of ultraviolet ray absorbers consisting of 15-45wt% compd. of formula I (where R1 and R2 are 1-4C alkyl; X is H, halogen, CH3, C2H5, OCH3, OC2H5 or aryl) (e.g. a compd. of formula II) and 8-15wt% compd. of formula III(where R3 and R4 are alkyl; the alkyl groups in them have at least 9 carbon atoms in total; Y is H, halogen, CH3, C2H5, OCH3, OC2H5 or aryl) (e.g. a compd. of formula IV) and oil drops which contains a high-boiling solvent (e.g. dibutyl phthalate or triphenyl phosphate). The dispersion which contains a mixt. of ultraviolet ray absorbers of formulas I and II gives a consistent ultraviolet ray absorption effect even at high temp. and high humidity when applied to photographic products.
