PURPOSE:To prepare a solid fuel which has a high calorific value and does not generate black smoke, foul odor and harmful gas, by classifying household wastes into combustible and incombustible substances and forming a crushed combustible substance into shape. CONSTITUTION:Household wastes stored in a storage pit 2 are crushed in a 1st crusher 8 and metals and non-metals are removed in magnetic separators 14, 20 and a shaking screen 12, respectively. The remaining wastes are separated in an air classifier 1 into combustible waste P and green vegetable refuse V. The waste P is sent to a 1st drier 26 through an air cyclone 22. The waste V is sent from a storage tank 28 to a screw press 30 for dehydration and is fed into a drier 26 for drying with hot air supplied from a burner 40 together with the waste P, followed by grinding in a 2nd crusher 44. The crushed material is sent into a 2nd drier 48 for drying with hot air supplied from a burner 50 and is sent via a storage tank 54 into a forming machine 68 for forming into shape, followed by cooling on a cooling conveyer.
