PURPOSE:To cut a work rectilinearly and positively by boring a through-hole at the center of a concave mirror constituting an unstable resonator, injecting linearly polarized small output laser beams into the through-hole by using a polarizing element consisting of a second laser device mounted on the outside and a Brewster's plate and deflecting laser beams in the desired direction while using said small output laser beams as a trigger. CONSTITUTION:A total reflection mirror 6' and a convex mirror 7 are mounted at both tip surfaces of an optical axis (d) of a linearly polarized structure constituting an unstable resonator proper 1, and a total reflection mirror 8 with an oval opening, which takes a circle on viewing from the optical axis (c), is disposed between the total reflection mirror 6' and the convex mirror 7 at an angle of 45 deg.. A discharge electrode 2 connected to a power supply 4 and a carbonic acid gas circulator 5 are installed to the outer circumference of the structure, and generated laser beams are projected to a work 13 through total reflection mirrors 8, 9 and 10 and a convex lens 11. In the constitution, a through-hole (g) is bored previously to the total reflection mirror 6', and a Brewster's plate 15 and a second laser device 16 outputting small output lasr beams of random polarized light are opposed to the through-hole, thus regulating the deflection of main laser beams. |
