PURPOSE:To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive compsn. which is suitable for use in a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, etc. and exhibits high tack and cohesive force by irradiation with ionizing radiation at a low dose rate, by using a vinyl polymer having a polymerizable unsaturated group at its terminal and a vinyl monomer as main components. CONSTITUTION:50-90pts.wt. vinyl polymer (A) (e.g. polybutyl acrylate) having a polymerizable unsaturated group at least one terminal and a weight-average MW (in terms of styrene) of 10,000-100,000 and 50-10pts.wt. vinyl monomer (B) (e.g. ethyl acrylate or ethylene glycol diacrylate) are incorporated as main component to obtain the desired pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. In the production of pressure-sensitive adhesive tape and sheet, etc., the resulting pressure-sensitive adhesive compsn. can be applied to a sheet substrate without using any solvents and cured by the irradiation with ionizing radiation at a relatively low irradiation dose.
