PURPOSE:To enable to bend a printing plate smoothly and securely, by a method wherein a printing plate bending lever releasing action of a rotary engaging member is interlocked with an action of drawing out a punching pin from a punched hole of a printing plate, in a rotary press. CONSTITUTION:In the condition wherein a press plate 19 is lifted up, the printing plate 5 is placed on a platen 14 with an end part of the printing plate 5 protruded beyond a curved surface 14d of the platen 14, and then the plate 19 is lowered, whereby a lower end part of the punching pin 30 is lowered while being engaged with the punched hole 41 of the printing plate 5, and the latter 5 is clamped between the plate 19 and the platen 14. When a knob 28b is turned, a fixed handle 28 is slightly turned in an errecting direction by the punching pin 30 pushed upward by a spring 31 and a knocking pin 39, and the pin 30 is simultaneously drawn out from the punched hole 41. Then, the handle 28 is errected and a printing plate bending lever 26 is turned around a pin 25, whereby the printing plate 5 is bent along the curved surface 14d by a printing plate bending plate 37. Accordingly, the printing plate can be bent in a single stroke, operability is enhanced, and the printing plate can be bent smoothly and securely. |
