CONSTRUCTION OF TRAVELING CARRIAGE AND RAIL FOR AUTOMATIC THERMAL CUTTING, AUTOMATIC WELDING AND AUTOMATIC LINEAR HEATING OF CURVED LINE

PURPOSE:To permit automatic and sure linear heating, thermal cutting and welding by superposing a flexible chain on a ribbon-shaped matallic strip or fixing a strip punched with slits at an equal interval on the curved surface of a steel plate and using the same as a quiding rail. CONSTITUTION:A guiding rail formed by superposing a flexible chain 10 on a metallic strip is laid along the curve of a steel plate 9 and is fixed by means of a magnet. A sprocket 12 for driving a body carriage 11 of an automatic wire rod heater or the like is meshed with the chain 10 and the carriage 11 is driven freely on the curved or sloped surface. A strip rail 23 punched with slits 24 at an equal pitch is used as a guiding rail in place of the chain 10 and is fixed by means of a magnet 25 to the steel plate. A sprocket 28 incorporated in the driving shaft of the carriage is meshed with the slits 24 to apply driving force to the carriage. The carriage for automatic thermal cutting, automatic welding, automatic linear heating, etc. is freely run along the curved surface of the steel plate by such guiding rail.
