PURPOSE:To attain recording with large capacity and high density by providing a hole adjusting amount of air flowing among plural magnetic discs to a shroud so as to decrease the temperature difference between the magnetic discs and to reduce the thermal off-track. CONSTITUTION:A cooling air pressurized by a blower flows from a duct 1 to an HDA and dust is removed by a filter 2. This cooling air flows onto a face of the magnetic disc 4 from a hole of a disc spacer 3, and after the air at high temperature on the face of the magnetic disc 4 is cooled, a part of the air becomes a stationary flow circulating along the inner wall of the shroud 5, the other part flows out of a hole provided to the shroud 5 so as to cool a carriage VCM assembly 6 and is discharged to the outside of the HDA from a discharge outlet 7. The number of holes of the shround 5 is designed to be many toward the center part and less toward the upper and lower parts. The amount of air flowing among the magnetic discs is much at the center layer and less toward the upper and the lower layers. Since the cooling effect by this air flow is proportional to the amount of air, the center layer is cooled strongest and the cooling force is weaker toward the upper and lower layers. |
