Hand driven water pump consisting of a pump housing 1 and a pump cylinder 6 being interconnected by means of a riser pipe 8. In the cylinder 6 there is a piston 9 with a check valve 14 and a foot valve 17. The piston 9 is mechanically connected to a pump rod 3 by means of a wire 10, and the piston is biased in the direction towards its lower end position by means of a spring 25. The piston 9 is spherically designed and has perforations 29. In the interior of the piston, a diaphragm 15 is mounted. The piston ring 16 permits the piston 9 to tilt a little in the cylinder during its movement. The foot valve 17 is spherical and has perforations 33. In the interior of the foot valve, a diaphragm 18 is mounted. The wire 10 is guided through and kept in a sliding block 21 simultaneously forming a bearing pin for the pump rod 3. <IMAGE>
