<p>Painting a band on elongated stock having an elongated edge by means of a spray gun placed at a particular distance from the stock ant controlled by a driven spindle mounting the gun. A scanning unit at a predetermined distance from the edge of the stock scans an edge of the painted band, ant a control circuit connected to the scanning unit operates the spindle drive to maintain the spray gun on the spindle in a particular position relative to the edge of the stock.</p> |
