CUTTING METHOD OF POLARIZING PLATE

PURPOSE:To use a small cutter and to perform efficient cutting without waste by forming a rectangular plate in consideration of the maximum cutting width of the cutter previously, and then cutting the plate into small polarizing plate strips. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized beltlike polarizing blank plate 1 which has an absorption axis lengthwise is cut on the bias at a specific angle to the absorption axis and at specific intervals in consideration of the maximum cutting width. Bias-cut plates 2 are joined together while cut edges form an upper and a lower parallel edge. The joined plate 3 is cut at right angles to the upper and lower parallel edges and at width intervals of size (l) equal to the maximum cutting width of the cutter to form rectangular plates 4 of DLMN and NMPQ. This rectangular plate 4 is cut in parallel to manufacture a small polarizing plate strip 5 having the absorption axis slantingly.
