PURPOSE:To sharply heighten both the output and operating frequency of a traveling-wave tube, by installing a line groove in part of a vacuum vessel in an axial direction, while spreading wide this groove and inserting a helix slow-wave circuit and a dielectric bar into this widespread groove. CONSTITUTION:When combination of a helix 1 and a dielectric bar 2 is inserted into a vacuum vessel composed of a pole piece 4 and a nonmagnetic metal 6 brazed alternately, it is so designed as to take place in a way spreading wide a groove 7 of 0.5mm. or so installed in the axial direction of the vacuum vessel. With this constitution, insertion comes possible to be done at the normal temperature, thus such a traveling-wave tube as being large in output at high frequency is securable. |
