PURPOSE:To obtain a superior base film for a liquid crystal transparent electrode by forming a coating layer having a specified relationship between refractive index and light transmission on one or both sides of a polymer film, and forming a transparent electrically conductive layer composed essentially of indium oxide on one side. CONSTITUTION:When the refractive index of a base film is 1.60, the coating resins to be used satisfy the inequalities (1), (2) as shown on the right (n1, n2 are each refractive index of the coating layer and the base film, respectively, and T2 is light transmittance of the coating layer in 400-800nm wavelengths). When n1 is about 1.50, a coating resin of n2<=1.47 is used. To enhance transmittance, the base film may be coated on both sides with the coating resin, and when it is coated on one side, the coating resin may be used as the undercoat of a transparent electrode film, or it may be formed on the other side of the electrode film. When both inequalities are satisfied, desirable results are obtained. |
