PURPOSE:To facilitate engraving of letters or patterns on small articles such as lighters or fountain-pens, by reducing original images on the base material positioned on a table by means of a pantograph and engraving them on the articles grasped by grasping plates. CONSTITUTION:The engraving device includes a table 3 for fixing a base material 6 having original images engraved thereon, a control shaft 12 provided in orthogonal relation to the table 3, and a pair of article grasping plates 19a and 19b which are mounted on the top of the control shaft 12 so as to move symmetrically. The device further includes a pantograph 21 having its base end 23 pivoted for engraving the original images in a given reduction rate onto a small article 22 grasped between the grasping plates 19a and 19b; a probe lever 24 mounted on the free end 25 of the pantograph; and an engraving lever 28 mounted removably on either through-hole part 31a or 31b formed in intermediate links 29a and 29b, respectively. |
