PURPOSE:To separate a transfer material invariably stably regardless of the image of an original by providing a separating discharger for corona discharging and a discharger for destaticizing behind a discharger for transfer and between a developing device and the discharger for transfer. CONSTITUTION:The discharger 10 for separation is powered on by an AC power source to perform (A.C.) corona discharging, and an A.C. voltage on which a proper DC component is superposed is impressed to the discharger when necessary. Further, DC corona discharging with the polarity opposite to that of the corona discharging for transfer is carried out. A high voltage is supplied from a high voltage power source 13 to the wire for corona discharging of the discharger 12 for the destaticizing. The high voltage power source 13 applies the AC voltage having a DC component superposed to the wire. The difference in surface potential between the picture part and no-picture part (white background part) on a photosensitive body 1 decreases as shown in a figure. Thus, a charge given to transfer paper 8 is discharged more effectively by the discharger 10 for separation after transfer regardless of the kind of the image of the original to separate the transfer paper 8 from the photosensitive body 1 securely. |
