<p>A reagent dispensing assembly (14) for use in an automated specimen analysis system (10). The assembly (14) comprises a dispensing station (116), a plurality of reagent supply containers (115) and a carousel (123) for releasably mounting the containers (115). Assembly (14) includes a system (124, 125, 126) for positioning a desired one of the reagent containers (115) at the dispensing station (116). A device (119, 137-142) acts on the containers (115) at the dispensing station (116) for dispensing the desired amount of reagent. A control system (16) coordinates the movement of the respective reagent containers (115) to the dispensing station (116) and the amount of reagent dispensed within a specimen in a specimen tray (18).</p> |
