摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the quantity of bromine permeating through an electrode and to prevent battery efficiency from being decreased due to self-discharging by forming carbon plastic in a matrix shape and by molding it after being mixed with high molecular ion exchange substance such as polystyrene, sulfonic acid etc. especially polystyrene sulfonate. CONSTITUTION:A carbon plastic electrode obtained by mixing and kneading high molecular cation exchanger of granular shape or powdered shape in carbon plastic material i.e. a mixture of polyolefins and carbon black and molding said mixture is used in the captioned battery. As for high molecular cation exchanger, it is most suitable to add sodium polystyrene sulfonate, and as for the adding quantity, a quantity not less than 10wt% makes an electrode brittle and mechanical strength can not be maintained, and a quantity less than 0.01wt% can not provide the effect of preventing bromine permeation can not be obtained. Accordingly, it is preferrable to add not less than 0.01wt%, practically 0.01-5wt%. Accordingly, as the bromine receives an electrical repelling force, its quantity permeating through the electrode is decreased extremely, deterioration of the electrode by permeation of bromine can be prevented, together with obtaining stabilized battery performance.
