PURPOSE:To improve Nernst response and shorten the response time by introducing orthonitrophenyl octylether which has large solubility to monencine for an ion selective film as plastisizer. CONSTITUTION:After a metal plate 2, to which a lead wire is connected beforehand, adheres to and closes one of the open ends of a cylindrical outer sheath 1, a metallic compound layer is formed on the surface of the metal plate 2 by a method such as electrolysis, chemical treatment or sputtering as required. Then prescribed quantities of polyvinyl chloride, olthonitrophenyl octylether, monomencine and tetrahydroflane are mixed to prepare a film forming solution of a sodium ion selective film and the solution is applied on the surface of the metal plate 2 and dried to obtain a covered type sodium ion selective electrode. The content of olthonitrophenyl octylether is 0.5-2.5 weight parts for 1 weight part of polyvinyl chloride and the content of monencine is 0.06-0.3 weight parts, preferrably 0.1-0.2 weight parts for 1 weight part of polyvinyl chloride. |
