<p>A continuous metal casting apparatus is provided in which a pistoncylinder assembly is operatively connected to a water-cooled casting mold and is arranged in circumscribing relation about the perimeter thereof so that the mold nests therewithin. The piston-cylinder assembly has an upper chamber on one side of the piston and a lower chamber on the other side. By alternately biasing the upper chamber and the lower chamber the mold is oscillated so as to overcome any tendency for the cast metal to adhere to the mold.</p> |
