PURPOSE:To improve the propelling efficiency of a ship by providing crank arms and pins of parallel crank shafts with one connecting member and oar blades perpendicularly rotating respectively for reducing the resistance and saving the power. CONSTITUTION:A motive power is transmitted via a transmission belt 2 and a power-receiving wheel 3 to rotate a crank shaft 6A as an arrow A shows. Since crank pins 7A, 7B and 7C are respectively connected with a connecting member 8, they are kept horizontal and rotated. Consequently, oar blades 9 are always rotated as perpendicularly kept, and scrape seawater or fresh water for rowing to propel a ship. Oar blades 9 are pushed into water B for rowing as always kept upright, and as being rotated, they are brought up from the water B as perpendicularly kept. This construction permits to reduce the resistance and save the required power.
