PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition capable of imparting the heat effect of far infrared radiation having arbitrary wavelength to a material having arbitrary shape in a wide field covering drying, cooking, copying, and medical fields, etc., by using a mixture of a heat-resistant inorganic adhesive with a calcined fine powder mixture of the oxide of a transition element at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be prepared by mixing (A) a heat- resistant inorganic adhesive (e.g. silica alumina adhesive) and (B) calcined fine powder mixture composed of two or more kinds of transition element oxides (e.g. a composition composed mainly of MnO2 and Fe2O3, and containing CoO, CuO and/or Cr2O3) (preferably powder having particle diameter of 1-50mu and calcined at 700-1,300 deg.C), at a weight ratio (A/B) of 97:3-20:80.
